Food Craftsmanship FC 2023 Programme
Welcome to the Food Craftsmanship Finnish Championship competition in Rovaniemi on 17–19 October 2023! The event offers interesting programme for all local food lovers!

17.10 Tuesday
- At 10–18 Product reception for the competition at Lapland University of Applied Sciences (Jokiväylä 11, 96300 Rovaniemi)
- At 19–21: Networking meeting for entrepreneurs at the glass terrace of the Arctic Light Hotel (Valtakatu 18, 96200 Rovaniemi)
Food can be ordered from the hotel restaurant during the entrepreneurs’ networking meeting.
18.10 Wednesday
- At approx. 8–18: Information for the jury and evaluation of the competing products
- At 9–15: Food craftsmanship seminar (stream available)
- At 10–18: The Great Autumn Fair
The evaluation of products, the food craftsmanship seminar and the Autumn fair are happening simultaneously at the Lapland UAS campus (Jokiväylä 11, 96300 Rovaniemi). The best artisan food package 2023 will also be elected during the event.
In the Food craftsmanship seminar, we will hear about the certification of food crafts, as well as the marketing, branding and packaging of artisan food. The floor will also be given to the entrepreneurs themselves, who will share about their experience in the business. The seminar participants can buy lunch at the Lapland UAS campus restaurant. The seminar will be streamed online and interpreted in Swedish.
The artisan theme will be visible also on the Autumn fair which is open for the public. The fair gathers together salesmen from all over Finland and the Arctic area.
At the fair, we will see craftsmanship demonstrations and organize a lottery with great prizes! For children, there will also be a bouncy castle and other fun activities.
The sales stands at the fair are free of charge. The entrepreneurs participating in the Food Craftsmanship competition, will have an opportunity to book a stand in the Lapland UAS campus main lobby.

19.10 Thursday
- At 8–16: An excursion to the Rural Entrepreneurship Centre in Loue (Kätkävaarantie 69, 95340 Tervola)
- At 18–00.30: Prize-giving ceremony at restaurant Santamus (Joulumaantie 8, 96930 Rovaniemi)
On the excursion day, we will have the opportunity to visit the food producers and farm animals at the Rural Entrepreneurship Centre in Loue, as well as go shopping in their brand new Plant and Local Foods Shop. Participants can buy a local food lunch from the Lappia campus restaurant during the visit.
In the prize-giving ceremony, we will celebrate the winners of this years Food Craftsmanship competition! The ceromy will be held in a mysterious, Lapland themed setting at Santamus Restaurant in the Arctic Circle. During the evening we will enjoy a high class, local food dinner, as well as performances from local artists.
The price of the dinner is 59 €. The dress code for the evening is lounge suit.
On the excursion day, there will be a free bus transportation from Rovaniemi to Loue and back, as well as to the prize-giving ceremony in the evening. The bus stops to take on passengers at the hotels in the city centre and at hotel Metsähirvas.
